WHY DO WE DO IT?
Whatever it takes, Crown Child Placement - Romania is committed to introducing
children to the life changing person of Jesus Christ and helping them from
their dilemma of being an orphan and without a family . We believe
having people in the lives of these kids is one of the best places for the
Lord to meet and touch the heart of a child.
FOR WHOM?
We invite all individuals, churches and groups that are willing to invest
their time and talents, construction and other skills for the cause of
Christ. Serving hands and a willing
heart are the basic tools. There is work available for men and women.
Age limit is from 16 years old and up. An
application is
located here which must be completed prior to visiting Romania. All
details are within the application. For the sake of "knowing" who you
are, we also ask for a
reference form to be filled out on you. We want and need people of
excellent character to make a difference for these children and this
ministry.
THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
For everyone coming to Romania, this
information is critical:
--You must supply
all of your own funds to get there and to stay there during the
time of your visit. Please ensure you have enough funds or have access
to funds if an emergency occurs. Credit cards and ATM's are available
usually in larger cities, but elsewhere as well, so it is a good idea to
have some cash on hand at all times.
--You also must be
able to supply for your own medical care if in the event you
get sick or injured. This is very important that you either have
international coverage or are able to pay for it in the event you wind up in
the hospital or doctor's office.
--Please ensure that you of everything to take with you
for the trip. Your presence is truly desired and needed, but please
understand Crown-Romania does not have the funds or wherewithal to cover any
sort of claim against them. This is a ministry for them.
WHERE?
We are located in the Targu-Mures region of north-central Romania
known as Transylvania.
We have made plans to create a much different life for these children over the
next several years and need your help to make that a reality.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED?
It may advisable to bring some hand power tools,
etc. if you have them. such as drills, small saws or things of that nature
that you would like to use. We will inform team members of the specific needs.
Equipment and the cost will be discussed for each individual project prior
to the trip.
COST:
This includes round trip airfare from a U.S. gateway city, (connecting
international airport), ground transportation. Meals and lodging are
usually not included, but arrangements for these will be made on a case by
case basis. Not included are lunches while on the road.
Medical and travel insurance is required and will be part of the ticket
cost. Details will be provided when a team is developed.
A $100.00 deposit is required for registration. Each person must have
a valid passport, but no VISA is required. For a passport, visit this site
at the
State
Department or you can go to your
local post office and get the necessary passport and photos.
* A portion of your trip cost ($100.00 USD) will go towards the expenses for the project
you will be working on. This trip and the expenses are all tax deductible.
TYPICAL PROJECTS:
Building a playground; renovating a restroom and rooms in
a hospital and sending kids to camp. For sure, there will be some
light-to-medium construction to be handled, so this will likely be a
"get-your-hands-dirty" trip for some of the time. But, what a blessing
in the long run.
THINGS YOU CAN BRING:
Most of the reason you are coming to Romania is to minister to kids.
Why not consider bringing over some "gifts" for the kids. This might
include some candy, personal items such as toilet articles for the girls and
boys. Possibly some easy to read books in English to get them
used to reading "In English" or some easy games, teaching materials (that
may applicable to the age group you are working with). Other items of your
choosing that are in good taste. If you can locate some books in
Romanian, that too, would be wonderful. Things like candy, gum, (in
other words), things that you or your kids might enjoy, they too would like
them.
THINGS YOU MUST CONSIDER:
We believe we must be an example to the host country and the ministry we
are representing. We ask that you choose your dress carefully.
Gentlemen: If you're working outside, acceptable "work clothes" are okay.. Shorts
are alright (not too short), dresses (long and to the knee) and skirts are
"OK", but not the mini-variety. Ladies, we ask that you wear a top
that will cover your entire upper part of your part of your body and
gentlemen, no tank-tops or "muscle shirts", as regular "T" shirts are fine.
Try to avoid the "loud" shirts or that with unacceptable writing or pictures
on it.
Please be prepared to have a set or two of good casual clothes for services
or going out on the town and be conscious of your conduct as you also
represent your country as well the YWAM ministry in Romania.
